For the past two years the North Shore REALTOR® Oscar Barrera with his family and team have fed the homeless in east side Vancouver. Last year over 1,000 people were fed!
On their last meal delivery on October 30th, they noticed that most of the homeless were very cold and in a serious lack of weather protection. It is because of that need that we have decided to do a quick blanket and clothing run to help as many people as we can in this cold season.
As you saw in the video above, we are on a very short mission to collect clothing to help the homeless and here are the details:
WHAT:
Clothing items that will keep people warm.
Blankets, gloves, scarves, sweaters, jackets, hats, and of course BLANKETS.
Please all items must be in good condition.

WHEN:
The cut off date to drop off donations will be
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 17th.
Preparation and logistics will be
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 18th.
Delivery of the clothes to the homeless will be
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 19th.

WHERE:
We will have a few drop off locations, please pay close attention to the time the drop off locations are open.
If you are unable to deliver at those times, please contact us (information below) and we will do our very best to meet you and collect your lovely donations.

HOW:
Just how we deliver the meals, we will be driving around areas of town where the homeless congregate and we will deliver the clothes directly to them.

WHY:
Gifting a few pieces of clothing to some people in need may not seem like much, or a big deal. It is easy to overlook the importance and the power of small actions, however the impact that we have in someones life by a small action is imposible to measure. In the days that you feel that life has it against you, when your day is not going well, or when you are simply feeling down, an action as simple as an unexpected smile or hug from someone can turn your day around, maybe your week and perhaps your future.
We all have the ability to donate a pair of gloves, or socks, or something that will make a real difference in a person's life. I promise you that you will feel fantastic by helping others!
That being said, if you would like to help us collect, organize, deliver, or maybe even make a few meals to deliver with the clothing please let us know, we would LOVE to have you involved.
